this position is responsible for overhead spend budget setting and analysis, profit & losses and inventory forecasting, ad hoc analysis, new product development, monthly bill of materials analysis, long range plan and annual operating plan responsibilities, along with the annual standard cost setting and analysis.
job requirement
1. education required: bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent.
2. experience required: 10-15 years.
3. travel required: <10%
4. knowledge of financial accounting, cycle counting, physical inventory, & cost accounting.
5. advanced computer skills (excel).
6. ability to follow written instructions.
7. ability to communicate clearly in both verbally and in written form.
8. conversation skills (written and verbal) in english and spanish
9. cpa/mba/cma preferred.
10. experience in a manufacturing environment with a standard cost system (sap helpful).
this position has regional cost accounting responsibility as well.
role & responsibility
monitor plan performance
11. provide management with analysis on plant performance to the plan and forecast.
12. develop and analyze monthly plant financial forecast (both profit & losses and inventory), annual operating plan and 5-year strategic plan.
13. ensure compliance with sarbanes oxley.
14. partner with plant manager and human resources to ensure alignment on headcount assumptions to production requirements.
capital spending management
15. partner with plant business unit managers to communicate and facilitate the achievement of the financial goals.
16. analyze capital spending projects via direct costing and make recommendations on make vs. buy decisions.
17. complete capital spend post implementation audits to ensure productivity goals are achieved.
18. establish annual overhead standards.
19. assist business unit managers on setting overhead spend budgets and analyzing these budgets on an actual vs. forecast basis.
20. recommend changes to these budgets as deemed necessary by business conditions
21. organize periodic physical inventory.
staff management
22. supervisory responsibility of finance team.
23. responsible for training employees and providing growth opportunities for future succession planning.
24. mentor regional cost accounting staff.
other
25. managing all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, inventory cost, accounting and revenue recognition is required as needed.
26. responsible for ensuring that the company is compliant with all regulations and laws that govern their industry.
27. must work across the organization boundaries an all levels of the company to achieve plant, country, or corporate objectives.
28. support the start-up needs for the mexico operational facility.
