the opportunity
pepsico data governance program overview:
pepsico is establishing a data governance program that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules and standards by which the company will define its most critical data.
enabling this program will:
• define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughout pepsico’s systems.
• leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics.
• improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations.
position overview:
the transportation management customer data steward plays a pivotal role within the global data governance team, ensuring that data aligns with the enterprise data governance (edg) processes, rules, and standards to maintain its fitness for purpose.
key responsibilities:
* data stewardship: be the trusted subject matter expert in transportation management & customer domain data, leading data assessments vs requirements, highlighting issues/gaps and leading remediation plans with local businesses or project stakeholders to ensure data remains trusted and fit for purpose.
* single point of contact: serve as the primary liaison for data owners and consumers within their respective data domains and assigned programs.
* stakeholder engagement: drive direct interactions with key domain and project stakeholders, the gdg lead, governance council, other data stewards, and relevant smes across the organization to define and assess transportation management & other customer domain data.
this role is essential for maintaining the integrity and usability of data, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that data governance practices are upheld across the organization.
your impact
as transportation management data steward assoc manager (customer) your scope would consist of:
* manage data assessment (discovery, source identification, data quality issue and remediation), cataloging and delivery for program & customer domain data, initially assigned to the global network design program for north america.
* ensure data accuracy and adherence to pepsico defined global governance practices, as well as driving acceptance of pepsico's enterprise data standards and policies across the various business segments.
* maintain and advise relevant stakeholders on data governance-related matters in the customer domain and with respect to transportation management data in network design, with a focus on the business use of the data and suitability.
* define data quality rules from source systems, within the enterprise data foundation and through to the end user systems to enable end to end data quality management to deliver a seamless user experience.
* advise on various projects and initiatives to ensure that any data related changes and dependencies are identified, communicated and managed to ensure adherence with the enterprise data governance established standards.
* represent market specific needs in sector/region data councils and above, ensuring locals user needs are heard/met/addressed; voice opinions around why proposals will or will not work for the market you represent and provide alternative solutions.
* accountable for ensuring that data-centric activities are aligned with the d+ai & gdg global ways of working and leverage applicable data standards, governance processes, and overall best practices.
qualifications
¿who are we looking for?
qualifications:
* 6+ years of experience working in customer operations, transportation management, data governance or data management within a global cpg (consumer packaged good) company; strong data management background who understands data, how to ingest data, proper data use / consumption, data quality, and stewardship.
* 6+ years of experience working with data in the specific customer / transportation management/ order to cash customer domain, associated processes, involved systems and data usage. This can be from a data management or a business operational perspective.
* ability to partner with both business and technical subject matter experts to ensure standardization of operational information and execution of enterprise-wide data governance policies and procedures are defined and implemented.
* 6+ years of experience working with data quality tools/technologies, including strong knowledge of workflow, monitoring, and reporting functionality (desirable).
* knowledge/working experience of pepsico usage of etms/gtms and/or transportation management processes in north america (desirable).
