*production & materials planner*

*position summary*
thales is looking for a *production & materials planner*who will be primarily responsible for the production materials planning for on time deliveries at lowest cost, and with proper inventory rotation that are requested by customer services’ teams and/or sales to the cuernavaca manufacturing plant.
In this position, you will work closely with manufacturing supply chain and procurement teams to optimize the inventory levels, increasing inventory rotation according to business requirements and/or targets.
*key areas of responsibility*
- receipt and management of sales orders from customer services’ teams and/or sales.
- conversion of sales orders into production orders, as well as acknowledgement of sales orders and maintenance of oracle system for accurate dates for customers and/or internal teams.
- planning for production materials for on time deliveries at lowest cost, and with proper inventory rotation.
- working with suppliers and/or internal teams to get materials on time and at lowest possible costs. Estimate costs and support on preparation of budgets.
- responsible for reporting inventory levels against business targets and implementation of defined actions for maintenance and/or reduction of inventory levels.
- organization of transport as required from production sites, at the best possible price, taking account of specific service level agreements with customers and scheme requirements, prepare required shipping import / export documentation as required by shipping destination and incoterms as well as maintain database of order shipping details.
- following up and informing customers (internal or external) of any changes or delays to logistics export delivery times.
*minimum qualifications*
- degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, or business
- +3 years of support experience in relevant production/materials planning, supply chain or related field.
- good knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, time management, materials forecasting management.
- experienced in oracle e-business suite or equivalent erp systems is desirable.
- fluent in english, both oral and written. Second languages are a plus.
- good analytical skills to resolve problems/issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- ability to work with staff and users from various countries, background, and cultures.
