Vave project engineer

location: juárez, nuevo león. basic function perform product cost out opportunity in a target-oriented manner through vave methodology and cost analytics. Work with cross functional teams to identify the products for cost out, analyze and execute the cost reduction vave projects. in this role, you will: •leverage your engineering fundamentals and creative problem-solving skills to design, test, and execute cost reduction projects that maintain the balance between kohler’s high-quality standards and cost.•determine the technical feasibility of cost out reduction ideas. •collaborate with global cross-functional teams including sourcing, industrial designers, marketings, supply chain, global test labs and codes and standard to confirm feasibility of changes and deliver quality products on time and within budget.•partner with our global engineering organization to capture knowledge, share best practices, and provide feedback on designs and deliverables.•consider diverse perspectives to find the optimal solution. specific responsibilities •perform cost benefit analysis and finalize annualized savings for given project.•prepare alternate design concept models and drawings using creo software. Coordinate the development and verification testing of modified designs. •perform cost out opportunity mining exercises by pareto analysis, competitor benchmarking and teardowns•apply vave methodologies and identify cost reduction opportunities.•create boms and engineering change requests and release the revised designs in windchill database and sap.•work with cross function team and make sure the product changes are in line with the codes and standards and customer value proposition.•document all the activities as per iso requirements and report to the stake holders on recommended frequency. relationships and contacts supervisory relationships: •reports to vave design – leader organizational relationships: •equivalent counterparts of business units and peers in the group. external business relationships: •third party service providers
skills/requirements
education and experience requirements •bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an abet accredited university•a minimum of 4 years related work experience in execution of cost reduction va/ve, continuous design improvement projects.•demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solutions to complex problems.•good knowledge of manufacturing processes such as brass and zinc casting, machining,, plastic injection molding, metal injection molding.•demonstrated expertise to apply dfx (manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, safety, cost) knowledge to mechanical design.•must have good communication to work globally with cross function teams.•proficient in ptc creo software & ms office tools
