.as a result of our 2030 strategy process and as an outcome of the science and innovation week staff discussions, cimmyt is looking for an outstanding, self-motivated, and result-oriented professional for the position of gender equity and social inclusion director reporting directly to the director general (ceo).this position will be based in texcoco, mexico in the cimmyt hq.*specific duties*:- support the expansion of our leadership on gender equity and social inclusion across the broad portfolio of themes and countries in line with the cgiar and cimmyt 2030 strategy.- advise leadership and lead the gesi team in the development of the strategy, including the co-development of a theory of change for the different research activities.- survey staff to document perceptions of commitment to gesi goals, culture, and policies in support of full participation and career pathways for women, under-representative groups, and all staff- support capacity-building initiatives to address gesi in their research and to ensure continuous learning and improvement through training, workshops, conference sessions, etc.- facilitate knowledge-building and sharing across themes, countries, and initiatives and support scientific rigor and the development of new insights, concepts, and methodologies that contribute to the international field of knowledge.- promote an inclusive and empowering environment for underrepresented groups and women in the organization through coordination with all relevant enabling units.*fundraising, outreach, and engagement*:- lead fundraising campaigns to ensure the ongoing prominence of gesi works throughout the organization.- enhance the representation and visibility of our gesi work in key influence and advocacy spheres (un women, cg gender platform, etc.) and the sustainable agrifood systems and climate change arenas.- engage with partners and stakeholders in education on gesi issues, and support training for scientists and emerging leaders in public and private sectors to transform research in development towards inclusive, sustainable pathways for impact.*research for impact*:- develop new and innovative ideas and methods for research on gesi.- integrate gesi in and across our research themes and promote gender transformative approaches in research for development projects.- facilitate inclusive multi-stakeholder dialogues and workshops.- coordinate with the cgiar gender platform to implement learning and contribute to the success of the platform- support specific project activities in relation to gender equity and social inclusion.*requirements*:- ph.d. in development studies, anthropology, sociology, geography, political science, women's studies, agricultural economics, and other relevant disciplines with a strong gender equity and social inclusion focus.- at least 10 years of experience in proven gesi-inclusive research for impact in sustainable agrifood systems
