Naps is seeking a highly skilled sourcing specialist with a background in the semiconductor industry, particularly in packaging, assembly, and contract manufacturing. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and developing long-term sourcing strategies. The position supports our san diego branch, so occasional visits will be required (visa mandatory). The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight in managing supplier performance and optimizing costs, quality, and delivery of critical components. Training will be provided for 3-4 weeks in san diego.
key responsibilities:
* develop long-term sourcing strategies for semiconductor assembly, substrates, and passives.
* lead cross-functional teams through rfp/rfi/rfq processes, ensuring a consistent supplier selection process.
* manage supplier performance in areas of technology alignment, cost, quality, and delivery.
* collaborate with engineering teams to optimize total cost of ownership (tco).
* drive cost-reduction and negotiation strategies.
* perform industry benchmarking and competitive analysis to build strategic supplier relationships.
basic qualifications:
* 7+ years of experience in sourcing or supply chain management.
* 5+ years managing semiconductor contract manufacturers (osats, ems, etc.).
* in-depth knowledge of semiconductor packaging, bump, and wlp technology.
* strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* project management experience is a plus.
technical skills:
* proficient in ms office, with strong excel skills (macros, pivot tables, etc).
* experience with oracle is a plus.
education requirements:
* required:bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, chemical, material science, or industrial).
* preferred:mba or master's degree in engineering (electrical, chemical, material science, or industrial).
