What will you do?
coaches direct buyers, buyer supervisors and mro indirect buyers track the status of the new items quotes with gp, updates parameters for all new and existing items and guarantees buyers’ activities and responsibilities are done in a timely manner.
principal duties:
1. manages continuous communication with global purchasing to have the prices in a timely manner.
2. assures global procurement escalation for prices available to meet our supplier’s lead time and production schedule.
3. updates parameters for new items and runs material audits according to the health report.
4. ensures all materials are on time and available for production.
5. leads projects to reduce shortages in assembly lines.
6. establishes and tracks buyers activities, objectives and responsibilities in a proper manner.
7. develops and monitors vendor performance.
8. directly supervises buyer supervisors & mro buyers.
9. assures that problems relating to delivery, pricing, and invoicing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner per standard procedures to avoid material shortages.
10. complies with activities specified in jci safety commitment letter.
11. participates in safety subcommittees and safety audits as required.
12. participates in risk assessments.
13. participates in ehs suggestions program.
14. participates in ehs observations program.
15. implements and maintains security policy, health, and environment at work.
16. supports the committees in identifying risks and environmental aspects.
17. participates in training program.
18. identifies training needs in safety, health, and environment.
19. trains staff in procedures and instructions.
20. defines corrective and preventive actions.
21. controls system logs in your area.
22. develops and reviews procedures and instructions.
23. intervenes personally to identify and correct unsafe acts and recognizes safe behavior.
24. identifies and reports potential environmental impacts.
25. analyzes and prevents the consequences of all actions before any activity.
requirements:
1. bachelor’s degree or 6+ years of experience in purchasing.
2. bilingual.
3. leadership skills.
4. teamwork.
5. service attitude.
6. ability to work under pressure.
7. experience in a manufacturing planning capacity.
8. ability to read and understand mrp reports, stock status reports, material variance reports, and customer order shortage report.
9. knowledge in running queries on the as/400 or equivalent database.
10. ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
