*your impact*:be part of a ford team responsible for design and validation.
you will be tasked with ensuring our vehicles are robust for vibration and noise, and will have exposure to almost all ford vehicles.
as a vehicle attribute engineer, you will be an essential part of the structural development & tuning of the body, chassis & propulsion systems.
your objective is to engineer the dynamic responses of the vehicle due to inputs from suspension, propulsion and other excitation sources in order to achieve customer-centric targets for nvh and vehicle dynamics.
you will coordinate with a cross-organizational team to lead/support vehicle development and issue resolution, working on a wide array of vehicle components and systems.
in this position, your primary development tool will be nvh cae analysis, so experience and proficiency with finite element models and pre-processors is strongly preferred.
you will:- lead the assessment and development of major vehicle lines to meet fwd bev vehicle nvh and ride customer requirements- coordinate development efforts between various activities across ford product development (e.g.
body, chassis, model build, nvh application, etc.)
to meet system level targets and ensure compatibility with vehicle level attribute requirements- optimize designs at a vehicle level for best cost, weight and performance.- lead / support tool and core projects to improve process, standards & methods for vehicle nvh & ride cae analysis- develop and validate concepts to resolve vehicle attribute issues.- assess cae system models to make sure they meet quality requirements*what you'll need*:the minimum requirements we seek- bachelor's degree in engineeringour preferred requirements- master's degree in mechanical engineering- coursework in vibrations, acoustics, and/or finite element analysis- experience in nvh cae (e.g.
nastran finite element analysis, normal modes, forced response, etc.
)- nvh test experience (e.g.
noise and vibration measurements, modal analysis, operational deflection shapes, data processing, etc.
)- familiarity with nvh cae software including hyperworks/hypermesh, ansa, and/or nvh console (nvh-c),- experience with cae optimization tools (e.g.
altair/hyperstudy, modefrontier, optistruct, etc.
)- programming skills (e.g.
matlab, python, etc.
)- experience using simcenter (lms) testlab- desire to work in fast-paced and highly technical environment- highly motivated and proactive, with exceptional attention to detail- strong problem-solving skills coupled with strong communication and teamwork skills*disclaimer*:ford motor company is an equal opportunity employer, as we are committed with a diverse workforce, and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran and basis of disability.
