*position purpose*
develops, implements and coordinates human resources policies and programs for the distribution center including employee relations, labor relations, payroll/compensation and benefits administration, staffing, training and development, and investigations of violations of company policy in compliance with all laws and regulations; elaboration and administration of payroll budget; effective administration of compensations and benefits, implements improvement projects for the area's indicators; gives coaching to the leadership team for the fulfillment of culture and established policies; implementation and monitoring of events and motivation programs for the best performance of the az; ensures the coverage of operational and administrative positions.
*primary accountabilities*
directs internal and external staffing consistent with company policy and employment laws and regulations to ensure the dc has the human resources to meet operative and administrative requirements.
Responsible for training and development of operative and administrative autozoners, including their proper orientation to ensure they perform jobs in an efficient manner in accordance with company procedures.
Manages employee relations by interfacing with autozoners to answer questions, and resolve employee issues to maximize employee morale and minimize company liability.
Oversees the efficient operation of payroll administration, accounts payable, uniforms and requeriments for the dc operation. Directs special projects and coordinates company functions and community projects.
Works with dc management and international trade dept. management and director of hr in coordinating the investigation of policy violations, and determining the appropriate disciplinary action.
Implements improvement projects for the area's indicators; gives coaching to the leadership team for the fulfillment of culture and established policies; implementation and monitoring of events and motivation programs for the best performance of the az.
Define programs and ensures the coverage of operational and administrative positions.
*education & experience*
level of formal education: a bachelor's degree (ba, bs) or equivalent.
Area of study: hr management, business administration
years of experience: five to seven years.
Type of experience: prior experience in administering employee relations, compensation and benefits programs, staffing, hr policy and procedures. Prior experience in training and development. Requires prior demonstrated success in handling sensitive and confidential employee relations issues.
Special certifications or technical skills: functionally bi-linguqal in english and spanish. Computer proficiency in microsoft office.
Other/preferred:prior experience using an hris system, lawson, peoplesoft, gmp.
