alten is seeking an r&d engineer specialized in design & release. The ideal candidate will help drive deliverables and maintain a high-quality operating system during the industrialization phase.
objectives:
the supplier will be responsible for the following:
* provide regular (daily, weekly, etc.) status tracking to the designated team leader and bo team through reports, statistics, and deliverable evidences.
* propose formats for reports, statistics, and evidence of deliverables for review and modification.
* ensure that all deliverables are thoroughly reviewed and meet ford's feasibility standards according to set timelines and milestones.
* develop invention disclosures as necessary.
* track versioning control methods.
* deliver a summary report to the bo team at the end of the purchase order, including deliverables, timing, achievements, and improvements.
specific deliverables:
* identify best in class (bic) designs through independent competitive benchmarking studies.
* own the bill of material (bom) review process for triaging new and existing cost reduction ideas.
* take a lead role in supporting value stream mapping (vsm), value chain.
* generate new cost reduction ideas and process improvements.
* develop testing and validation plans for engineering change proposals.
* ensure product development (pd) alignment and ownership on idea approval, validation, and implementation plans.
* manage the engineering change request (cr) generation and approval process.
* create work plans for implementing cost reduction ideas.
* ensure timely release of all crs and notices.
* organize and execute engineering plant line trials as required.
* review all launch fixes and cost-up crs to determine if better value solutions exist.
* support assembly plant line walks and process improvement plans as needed.
* interface with purchasing and cost estimating teams to validate cost-saving values.
* collaborate with studio, marketing, and program teams to obtain necessary change approvals.
* provide weekly feedback to the pd team on progress toward cost reduction roadmap targets.
* escalate issues requiring assistance to the pd team promptly.
requirements
* bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
* 5 to 8 years of experience in r&d or industrial engineering, particularly in the automotive sector.
* experience with dfmea, pfmea, control plans and fma tools.
* catia skills – manipulate cad files, cut sections, measure clearances.
* teamcenter.
* strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost reduction strategies.
* excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
