*role summary*:
the quantum legal team is seeking a talented, highly motivated, team player for its commercial transactions team, and to provide legal support to other areas within the company as outlined below. This is a high-profile, impactful role that will work alongside leadership across the company fulfilling commercial relationships and contracting functions.
This is a full-time position located in guadalajara, mexico.
*what you can expect to do*:
- partner with internal functions (sales, marketing, operations, finance and other stakeholders) and external clients to structure, draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements to support the product and services sales, marketing and operations of the company. Act as the advocate, advisor and trusted business partner to influence our internal teams to address and provide practical legal solutions to commercial issues.
- review and negotiate regional and global agreements to drive revenue growth. Additionally, support the continuous improvement of the way we do business by up leveling our standard forms of agreement, contracts playbooks, and other legal processes.
- regularly lean on your strong understanding of both local and multinational laws, legal requirements, and government proceedings.
- engage and collaborate cross-functionally with finance, sales operations, deal desk, product operations, support, security and other functions at all levels throughout the organization to ensure that agreements adequately protect the company’s interests.
- interpret, edit, and respond to contract requests and requirements, obligations and risk exposure and advise the business as to the appropriate course of action.
- work with the business to shape new product and service offerings and create and document adequate contractual provisions to support new business activities and growth.
- support global merger and acquisition activity.
- develop and maintain strong, professional working relationships with the sales and operations organizations and other internal stakeholders.
- this is currently a director-level position in an individual contributor role, but could possibly include managerial responsibilities in the future.
*qualifications*:
- jd or equivalent from an accredited law school in the u.s. or mexico.
- active ability to practice law.
- 8+ years of demonstrable front-line, direct legal experience drafting and negotiating agreements for a multinational technology company (including both hardware and software products) in a distribution/channel model (i.e., selling through oems, distributors and resellers).
- direct experience with service agreements, supply agreements and/or real estate agreements is strongly preferred.
- ability to travel across international borders, including to the u.s., upon request.
