Analyze and develop sustainable energy strategies by identifying opportunities in electricity sourcing and implementing innovative solutions to achieve our sustainability goals. Provide detailed analysis and strategic recommendations to guide business decisions in the power sector for cemex's cement operations.
*main responsibilities*:
- analyze and propose short, medium and long term power initiatives under different scenarios (ppa, capex, leasing), improving the current co2 roadmap that will lead us to achieve our specific scope 2 emissions and clean electricity targets to 2030.
- assist in the development and implementation of financial models to analyze the identified initiatives and provide recommendations on the ones that should be prioritized based on financial results.
- help draft and negotiate commercial agreements, such as term sheets, memorandum of understanding (mou), power purchase agreements (ppas), leasing and service agreements.
- work and coordinate with corporate staff and regional operational areas, including finance, legal, tax, accounting, sustainability, operations and technical, r&d, among others in the development of initiatives.
- assist developing materials for top management meetings, including board of directors, executive committee, and other events.
*position challenges*:
- help achieve our scope 2 specific emissions target of no more than 24 kgco2/t by 2030 and a clean electricity share of 65% by 2030.
- follow-up power and fuel markets across all cemex's geographic regions.
- present financial information to management in way that can be easily analyzed and used for managerial decisions.
