This position will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and deductions.
* ensure that all processes are executed based on payroll procedures with standards and tools in place and aligned for all accounts.
* pay employees accurately and on time by overseeing the transfer of information to the payroll provider and ensuring completion of payments.
* develop procedures and audits to ensure data integrity.
* maintain accuracy of all payroll information by applying for necessary controls and approvals.
* analyze attendance data.
* perform payroll calculations for overtime and differentials associated with multiple shifts.
* manage leave paid time off and deductions.
* understand and verify tax calculations.
* understand and administer garnishment processing.
* document issues, resolutions, and timing for all employee inquiries.
* communicate status/progress/future action items or recommendations to the immediate manager.
* work with the finance business partner of payroll to deliver accurate business intelligence and reports.
* lead payroll activity, ensuring timelines and accuracy of payroll payments, tax experience, and business reporting.
* process payroll activities in accordance with company guidelines, social security, legislation, and local tax requirements.
* actively review, analyze, and lead the key controls to ensure compliance with legal and jsox, internal and external audits.
* ensure payroll is processed and paid timely and accurately according to established payment dates.
* assure compliance related to electronic stamping (cfdi's).
* manage, recommend, and implement improvements to current processes to ensure ongoing compliance with company policies/procedures and local tax regulations.
* manage relationships with external payroll vendors and stakeholders in general.
qualifications
years of experience:
* 5-7 years of experience in payroll.
education:
* bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
languages:
* advanced english level is a must to have.
travel required?
* yes, less than 20% per year, to toluca.
additional skills:
* experience with peoplesoft, workday, excel, and sap.
* technical payroll, taxes, accounting, and internal controls knowledge and experience.
* high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* advanced proficiency in microsoft excel.
* strong technical understanding of payroll, taxes, benefits, and social security.
* strong client support, resulting in a positive employee experience.
* knowledge of general ledger to support accounting inquiries and resolve reconciling items related to payroll.
* proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, often competing.
* managed a payroll of more than 1000 employees.
* experience with unionized employees (preferred).
