Position summary:
this advanced position is responsible for growing accounts and managing the interaction and alignment within the business. Input to or management of the account strategy, the development of complex quote proposals, advanced financial analysis, communication and management of all manners of commercial and technical issues are routine. This role is often the subject matter expert at the plant level and has ownership for the assigned accounts and its relationships.
functional contribution & responsibilities:
1. takes the lead role in providing the daily support and management of the account needs and drives the business to align with the account requirements.
2. understands selected accounts business and market cycles as well as builds plans to provide the best forecasting data for incoming sales during sales operating financial planning (sofp) processes.
3. maintains and grows selected accounts, suggesting improvement opportunities to commercial topics including terms, pricing guidelines, and stocking agreements.
4. actively contributes in strategic account planning (sap) activity.
5. leads periodic customer business reviews.
6. reviews pricing to ensure compliance with pricing strategies.
7. monitors watlow account performance for preventative action as needed, evaluates, and responds to customer complaints, application problems, returns, and technical support.
8. works with engineering and customer application support engineering to review customer specs for compliance, accuracy, feasibility, and provide system quotations per customer request.
9. provides customer scorecard management and reporting to drive organization to complete improvement activities.
10. determines, manages, translates, and communicates customer special requirements.
11. executes strategy with stakeholders to maximize customer growth and profitability for assigned customers and customer affiliates.
12. recommends additional products, services, and systems that benefit the account profitability and success.
13. participates as a key part of escalation process when required.
14. supports strategic business units plan linkage to assigned accounts.
15. leads strategic account plan team activity.
16. works with business unit to support revenue growth goals and path to achieve them.
17. collaborates with sales, director of strategic accounts, and business unit leaders or product managers to manage customer engagement for assigned customers.
18. executes strategy with business unit stakeholders to maximize customer growth and profitability for assigned customers.
education, experience and other requirements:
• bachelor’s degree in related field (engineering) and 8+ years’ experience in related field
• project management experience
• leadership training, business acumen, and strategic mindset.
solid experience in account management within the industrial sector is a must.
