- your key responsibilities:
- interact proactively with related functional areas of the divisions to ensure appropriate accounting and financial reporting is accomplished.
- responsible for the delivery of service levels and sla/kpi targets for the fixed assets, and intangibles function.
- ensure fixed assets and intangible process designs are consistent with best practices and aligned with the global record-to-report design document, initiating process im-provement initiatives where appropriate.
- collaborate with key stakeholders, including cross-divisional business colleagues, both internal and external accounting authorities/auditors, and division and group financial reporting and accounting, and ensure appropriate communication with these stakehold-ers when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise.
- ensure all processes performed by the fixed assets and intangibles team comply with novartis standards and policies (i.e.
global processes, novartis accounting manual, novartis financial controls manual, management authorization levels, etc.).

*minimum requirements*
- education: undergraduate degree in accounting and/or finance required; advanced degree in finance, accounting or business preferred.
- experience: comprehensive knowledge of ifrs (gaap), accounting and financial reporting requirements, enterprise systems knowledge (sap)
- significant experience in financial accounting and reporting, auditing and financial process engineering, with record of strong control focus.
- 6+ years of financial experience, preferably in big 4 public accounting and the healthcare industry
- 3 years of experience working with outsourcing contracts and/or shared services teams an asset
- strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing and management skills.
