Work closely with multiple business areas and stakeholders to establish, develop sourcing strategies and supplier management activities with input of spend analytics and budgetary forecasts.
- communicate, negotiate, and own the relationship with customers and suppliers through all levels of the customer organization.
- develop, implement, and execute procurement strategies for strategic raw materials.
- execute metals category strategies for single or multiple global categories of spend, coordinate activities across all regions to identify and qualify suppliers capable of providing products and services to meet business requirement globally, ensuring productivity, lowest cost of ownership, and developing strategic suppliers into partners.
- explore and identify new opportunities in sourcing raw materials in the region/globally for metals suppliers.
- work closely with the regional procurement teams to develop and implement commodity strategies, manage supplier relationships, and lead negotiations in alignment with global strategy and targets.
- work with the regional team and in alignment with wider commodity teams to ensure successful execution of strategic kpi’s.
- understands global market dynamics of assigned commodities/services and translate knowledge into effectively managing suppliers, mitigating risk and cost control.
- support resolution of cost, quality and delivery issues within the sites & regional team as requested.
- responsible for an estimated annual spend.
- develop capability matrix, subcategories for metal suppliers
- implement contracts to reinforce replenishment systems.
- implement annual structures of rebates or credits based on annual spend with key suppliers.
General responsibilities
- leads collaboration with functional areas to populate sourcing events, making decisions on sourcing event structure, supplier pool, selection criteria and event outcome criteria
- leadsactivities as required cross-functionally, including planning, engineering, quality, programs, finance, legal and manufacturing
- leads in the continuous development of the procurement function towards the best practices
- responsible for the delivering of corporate aligned procurement objectives supporting total company strategic vision
- lead with implementing communication strategies to ensure accurate and timely flow of information to upper management, business partners, and suppliers
- lead in supplier risk assessments, risk management and disaster recovery planning
experience / qualifications
- a university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
- proficient in microsoft office programs (outlook, word, powerpoint, and excel)
