mission of the role:
the finance controller's primary mission is to ensure all financial metrics are met including ebitda, manufacturing cost, internal control, adherence to all accounting guidelines, us gaap, cash, compliance with u.s. and mexico federal tax regulations while contributing to the company's underlying business objectives and strategic direction. The role demands that the successful candidate is efficient and effective, with strong accounting and finance skills who can focus on the key drivers of a decision and think through the down-stream consequences. This role has tremendous growth opportunity in analytical and leadership skills and capabilities.
key objectives of this role:
* maintain internal controls and highly adherence to company policies and procedures. This includes local statutory financials, sarbanes-oxley, u.s. Gaap and internal controls.
* support and lead the coordination of all internal and external financial and operational audits and address any audit findings with plant & warehousing and corporate leadership.
* responsible for month end close and reporting as will be defined, according to the corporate timeline.
* prepare monthly and rolling quarterly forecast.
* oversee and manage the daily operations of the local accounting/finance department.
* drive the site to meet or exceed all financial metrics.
* monitor, analyze, and report monthly actual results against the budget & forecast.
* work closely with team leadership to ensure that all financial transactions and reporting are complete, accurate and timely.
* perform frequent walk-throughs of local operations site with plant manager to address production and costing issues.
* establish and implement short- and long-range department goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
* support plant manager with analysis, manufacturing production plans, forecast and projections accuracy.
* responsible for preparing the annual standard cost changes.
* analyze and understand the manufacturing cost related to the plant and product. Develop strategies in conjunction with manufacturing to implement cost reduction actions.
* responsible for capex monthly tracking and cip controls in partnership with operations.
* analysis of the inventory reserves and provisions; including but not limited to slow moving, obsolete, under market and revaluation.
qualifications, experience and skills:
* bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent required.
* solid track record in accounting and fp&a.
* 10+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing industry.
* prior plant controllership experience a strong preference, but not mandatory.
* experience managing teams with at least 8 people.
* sox and internal control compliance.
* understanding the business and variances concepts.
* excellent communication in english spoken and written.
key performance indicators:
* meet 2024 manufacturing costs target.
* achieve scrap, labor & overhead and fixed cost targets.
* achieve revenue and 4wall ebitda objectives.
* achieve inventory obsolescence targets and meet full year inventory goal.
first year deliverables:
* organize and perform 4wall physical inventory audits resulting in true up below shrink reserve.
* complete sox testing with rating of satisfactory, resolving any open findings.
* meet all corporate deliverables on time with a high degree of accuracy and transparency. This includes month end, quarter end and year end calendar deliverables.
* assess team capabilities and develop world class plant finance controlling team.
reporting structure: the plant controller will report to the plant manager with a dotted line to regional finance director.
