job description
as the senior technical sales account manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing our customer base in mexico, focusing on the meat, poultry, seafood, specialty food, dairy, and beverage segments. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, translating business strategy into actionable sales plans while advocating for customer needs within the organization. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, with in-plant problem-solving experience being a strong plus. You will drive sales growth by developing account strategies, building relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
location: this is a home-based position where candidates will work remotely from home when not traveling in the field. Preference is for candidates to be located in mexico city, monterrey, or nuevo león, mexico.

* build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, including r&d, operations, procurement, and marketing.
* develop and maintain customer profiles, relationship plans, and strategic targets.
* achieve key performance indicators (kpis) for assigned customers and territory.
* identify and pursue growth opportunities, aligning resources to support customer expansion.
* drive sales growth and increase market share with key customers.
* manage contracts, pricing, and key negotiations.
* track and support customer opportunities and all sales-related tasks using salesforce.com.
* serve as the primary link between customers and our u.s.-based technical excellence center.
* oversee volume forecasting for assigned customers.
* monitor and communicate customer, market, and competitor trends to the organization.
what skills and experience do i need to be successful in this role?
* minimum of 10+ years of experience in technical sales within the food ingredient industry.
* bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field.
* fluent in english, with highly developed communication and presentation skills.
* self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, including dispute resolution.
* proven track record of driving sales growth with existing and new products.
* skilled in negotiating complex and challenging situations.
* comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to change.
* ability to develop opportunities, manage priorities, and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
* strong personal presence and effectiveness in customer interactions and internal collaboration.
* willingness to travel extensively within mexico (minimum 75% of the time) with occasional travel to the us for tradeshows and corporate meetings.

compensation at icl:
if you are hired at icl, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also offer a generous benefits package.
salary range: $680,000 - 935,000 mxn
annual bonus target: 16.67%, subject to plan provisions.
