Manufacturing engineer - equipment
provide up-front manufacturing engineering for equipment, tools, and processes for inteva’s interiors projects; this equipment and tooling will be primarily automated assembly and plastics joining applications. Responsibilities will include the implementation of this equipment at the plant locations.
responsibilities
* provide new equipment specifications and generate equipment statement of requirements.
* provide equipment and tooling cost estimates for new business quotations.
* fully support the product development teams through regular meeting attendance, personal interaction, commitment to deliverables, and support for team members.
* ensure equipment and tools are ready on time, within budget, meeting all quality standards, and all pertinent safety standards.
* coordinate equipment installation at plant and support start-up and debug phase, which may require extensive time spent at the manufacturing sites.
* assist in developing assembly and welding processes for new business.
* assist plants with continuous improvements.
* create all required documentation for equipment run-off including ergonomics, safety, spare parts, electrical and controls documentation.
qualifications
* bs engineering or associate engineering degree with plant experience.
* project and budget management experience.
* 5+ years manufacturing engineering for equipment experience.
* advanced english proficiency.
* experience in manufacturing of automated equipment, plastics welding/joining, tools and assembly processes.
* familiarity with automotive interiors manufacturing systems, tools, processes, and materials.
* knowledge of machine controls and plcs, ac/dc electrical power, and pneumatics and hydraulics.
* knowledge of machine safety, ergonomic standards, and ability to read electrical and pneumatic prints.
