define the strategy for shipments, deliveries, and carriers for all customers and suppliers, according to the objectives and budget defined for the area.
be part of the continuous improvement of the whole transportation process and the interaction with the rest of the areas, so we can guarantee a high level of service for our customers, aiming to reach new and better goals in our kpis.
follow the company's policies (compliance) and the laws and government requirements related to the area.
main responsibilities
1. make the projection of the shipping plan for the year and provide tracking on a monthly basis.
2. develop, implement, and continuously improve the main kpis for the area.
3. optimize the resources and costs of the area, using insights provided by the main indicators.
4. negotiate with carriers and main suppliers of the area.
5. build the annual budget for the area and track it on a monthly basis (raise any important risks).
6. continuously evaluate suppliers to improve the service level.
7. lead projects for continuous improvement in order to achieve sustainable growth.
8. audit processes in the area to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and laws.
9. control costs and expenses in the area, approving and auditing the payment flow.
10. reconcile the budget vs. expenses with the audit of our dc controller.
11. review and apply all protocols of safety and security in the area.
12. visit our main customers (with more volume or potential), understand their needs, and follow up on action plans after meetings.
13. ensure compliance across the operation and raise any related risks.
knowledge and experience
1. administration or engineering degree.
2. master’s degree or certification in logistics or transportation.
3. knowledge in six sigma and lean manufacturing.
4. advanced english proficiency.
5. leadership skills for the development of the area.
6. 5 years of experience in a similar position, serving all sales channels (departmental, retail, specialist, e-commerce, etc.).
7. solid knowledge of supply chain operations.
8. decision-making abilities.
9. good communication skills.
10. proficient in excel, word, powerpoint, and outlook.
11. knowledge of tms, wms, sap, and similar systems.
12. flexibility in working days and hours.
other knowledge
1. development, implementation, and continuous improvement of kpis.
2. analysis and management of databases.
3. technology resources (ms office, laptops, scanners, copy center, etc.).
4. proficiency in excel.
5. knowledge of government requirements related to the transportation area.
6. understanding of the outbound process between customer and supplier.
7. experience with carriers and outbound suppliers.
8. experience in dc operations (3pl and own operation).
