We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of
*vice president - alcm operations*
*role purpose*
interest rate risk management roles encompass a broad range of responsibilities and skill sets, requiring a working knowledge of all balance sheet products, businesses as well as key finance and markets principles. The incumbent in this role will interact with lines of business, senior management and group alcm areas on a regular basis to develop and maintain key interest rate risk tools. These tools include earnings at risk, economic value of equity and present value of a basis point and require the ability to move between bank and business/product level perspectives.
*main activities*:
this role is part of alcm irr.
- manage large and complex databases from a number of different subsystems that drive the husi nii interest rate risk position.
- direct finops team that runs the qrm to coordinate changes in inputs, processes and assumptions
- interpret results and assess the impact of assumption/key variable changes from qrm system
- key interest rate risk concepts including but not limited to duration, net present value and basis risk is critical.
- align practices with existing other teams in alcm to embed global processes and standard euc’s
- providing leadership and guidance to regional and global business peers
- documenting clear basis of preparation for each aspect of the irr process
- transition of processes/activities totarget operating model (tom)
requirements
*knowledge & experience*
- qualified ca (cwa /cpa /cfa/ mba (finance)/ pgdbm-finance, experience in accounting/financial reporting, management reporting, global consolidation, financial analysis within ifrs and ias reporting framework
- knowledge of key interest rate risk concepts and bank transfer pricing
- deep understanding of balance sheet and p&l
- sound understanding of hsbc market products and line of business (specifically gbm)
- strong attention to detail having strong analytical skills
- good understanding of financial products and how they impact finance operations and more generically the banking business.
- excellent working knowledge of ms related products i.e. Excel, power point, access.
- experience in developing, documenting and reengineering processes.
- strong communication skills and an ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience.
- ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical location.
- ability to manage the service delivery of a designated processes
- excellent communication skills and presentation skills are mandatory, as are good tact and diplomacy, as the role requires relationship management with other individuals and teams within the hsbc group
- global exposure: ability to interact with multiple cultures / multi-tasking.
