the business development assistant will play a key role in generating leads, building relationships, and identifying growth opportunities within the u.s. food service market. The role involves a mix of administrative support, lead qualification, and outreach activities with a focus on email communication and targeted phone calls. This part-time position offers flexibility, making it an excellent opportunity for a self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills.
about the company:
our client, a growing plant-based food company focused on providing healthy, delicious, and sustainable meat alternatives. Their food service team is expanding and is seeking a business development assistant to support their mission of bringing plant-based solutions to restaurants, hospitality, education, and other industries.
availability:
* part-time (20 hours per week).
* at least two days with morning/afternoon availability for meetings preferred.
work schedule:
* flexible schedule, accommodating availability monday through friday.
* flexible hours between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm eastern time.
* potential for concentrated work hours on certain days.
key responsibilities:
* manage outreach via email (160 emails/week) and phone calls (40 calls/week).
* research and qualify leads across food service sectors, including restaurants, hotels, and educational institutions.
* maintain and update contact information in copper crm.
* support the team with administrative tasks and data organization.
* monitor and report on outreach metrics, ensuring activity targets are met.
* schedule meetings and introduce products to potential clients.
* proactively seek new business opportunities and update leadership on progress.
requirements:
* minimum of 2 years of b2b sales experience.
* experience with crm tools (copper preferred, training available).
* familiarity with ms excel.
* proven track record of successful lead generation and business growth.
language requirement:
* strong written and verbal communication skills in english (c2 proficiency).
preferred skills:
* experience in cold calling and emailing.
* excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* ability to independently research and identify key decision-makers.
