the materials supervisor is responsible for safety in the warehouse and is a key contributor with safety practices within the molding plant.
in this leadership role you will develop, implement, and manage material handling operations and perform supply chain strategic action items.
this position will be key in securing the raw materials to cover the demand of the business; negotiate with vendors to timely and effectively process expedites or push outs, must be able to find cost savings opportunities and provide support on finish on time specific projects of the department.
responsibilitiessupervise warehouse and purchasing of tijuana molding operation.enforce warehouse safety rules and policies.leads initiatives to improve inventory accuracy within tijuana molding plant.contributes to improve indirect labor efficiency.successfully manage all aspects of purchasing, warehousing, inventory, shipping, invoicing, and month-end materials reporting.improve material flow.monitor supplier performance and drive short-term corrective actions while recommending and establishing long-term fixes.execute corporate and strategic plans to meet goals including inventory levels, cost reduction, vmi/stocking agreements, supplier consolidation, alternative vendor development, on-time delivery performance, and excess and obsolete reduction.keeps customer informed on project status at the agreed upon frequency and works closely with the customer to resolve any issues.develop improved planning, inventory and purchasing systems and practices.foster creativity and innovation within the materials team.qualificationsminimum qualifications:
bachelor's degree in engineering or business related field.must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in purchasing, planning and warehouse operations.must have a minimum of 5 years as supervisor.must be capable of working in an independent, self-directed manner and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.excellent problem-solving & analytical skills.display excellent math skills as well as problem solving, analytic, project management and time management skills.fully bilingual english/spanish, both written and verbal.desired qualifications:
an advanced degree in business, engineering, science, or mathematics.lean manufacturing or lean six sigma experience.injection molding experience.apics cpim or cscp certified.usa visa available.
