your mission, roles and responsibilities
overall responsibilities and duties:
the series buyer is responsible for improving supplier performance in production (quality, cost, tvo, delivery) for several plants, in line with purchasing strategy.
the main missions of the role are:
1. support purchasing budget construction by sizing potential savings for ideas in the pipeline.
2. establish, feed and monitor a detailed portfolio for tvo, mob, and resourcing activities.
3. execute and coordinate actions with stakeholders to reach budget targets.
4. contribute to plant results review with operations, finance, and controlling.
5. accountable for the series purchasing performance of plant(s) under his/her scope.
6. contribute to efficient handover at gate 4 led by program buyers.
7. participate in ecr meetings in series, leading ecr related actions for purchasing scope.
8. execute resourcing and make or buy in serial life, based on operation's priorities and commodity buyers guidance.
9. manage transfer/resourcing/relocalization activities with suppliers in series.
10. review and monitor weekly purchasing productivity plan under his/her scope, leading performance review with plant teams.
11. identify and implement all productivity actions (vave) in coordination with commodity buyers and relevant functions.
12. define and coordinate activities with commodity and sqd representatives to develop supplier workshops and value creation initiatives.
13. implement best practices in his/her scope.
14. support troubleshooting activities linked to delivery/supply chain disruption when escalation from pc&l and quality. Involve commodity when necessary (threshold to be defined).
15. support execution of admin actions to be done at plant level (temporary outsourcing/resourcing).
your profile and competencies to succeed
qualifications
minimum education level: bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or business.
nice to have: specialization in international purchasing or supply chain.
experience:
minimum 3 years experience in purchasing, production, quality, or sales.
nice to have: automotive experience would be an advantage.
skills & competencies:
knowledge of productivity/lean management methodology.
knowledge of production, quality, and logistics.
fluent in english.
ability to work in a matrix organization.
good communication and interpersonal skills.
nice to have: knowledge of products and technology, and supplier audit process and quality management.
