general job description:
under limited supervision performs the following activities:
1. serves as project administrator for construction project contracts.
2. monitors construction contracts for compliance with fedex construction documentation requirements.
3. reviews and approves all construction progress payments and maintains accurate records of all work in place.
4. interfaces with engineering and construction disciplines in construction coordination and engineering changes.
5. reviews scope schedules and budgets for assigned project.
6. communicates throughout the course of the project with the manager of construction concerning the current status of the project and anticipated problem areas; recommends associated changes in the project's course of action.
7. coordinates and controls the involvement of necessary staff functions to ensure schedule and budgetary maintenance and quality standards (i.e., airport relations, airport planning, fueling, real estate, industrial engineering, marketing, sales, operations, etc.).
8. directs and controls all construction activities to ensure compliance with design documents; ensures the completion of projects on schedule, within budget, and in line with corporate and industry standards.
9. finds and secures appropriate facilities for company need, both on and off airport site.
10. negotiates lease agreements with landlords as an agent for fedex.
11. develops real estate proposals in consultation with finance, treasury, and ground operations with the concurrence and assistance of the sr. Manager, field services, and facilities/bsc for presentation to the sr. Vice president, central support services, and the field.
12. may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
minimum requirements:
minimum education:
1. bachelor's degree/equivalent in architecture, engineering or construction.
2. fluency in english and spanish required.
minimum experience:
1. seven (7) years professional experience encompassing architectural, engineering and construction disciplines in the development and completion of multimillion dollar projects with emphasis on project management/construction management and administration of capital projects.
2. strong knowledge of international environment including local government and business practices.
