job purpose
the university of scranton recreation department seeks a driver for our men’s and women’s crew boat trailer. Responsibilities include transporting the boats to and from designated regattas.
this position is considered a non-employee affiliate of the university.
- using a university provided vehicle to tow the boat trailer; trailer is approximately 60 feet long and will hold four or more boats; the driver can expect to travel between 2 and 2.5 hours per regatta
- compensation for each regatta is $250.00 paid by the club (if the trip requires additional days, the driver will receive $100 per day and hotel/food expenses will be covered)
additional skills required
- must have a clean driving record and pass the university of scranton’s authorized driver process
- be dependable and timely in attendance
- ability to work independently
- demonstrate an ability to perform under extreme weather conditions, or where unexpected changes and unsafe conditions exist
- report any mechanical problems or damage to the vehicle/trailer to the associate director of recreational sports
- ensure proper levels of fuel
- complete the university police driving course/certification as well as complete background check clearance
