Description
overview:
the hardware engineer in the continental advanced driver assistance systems (adas) is responsible for the design and development of advanced driver assistance system control modules, radar and camera, sensors from concept phase to production.
core responsibilities:
- design automotive electronic interfaces to comply with internal and external requirements.
- bom design updates and proper electronic component selection according to latest design requirements.
- evaluate and update designs already in production to address component pcn/ptns.
- verify design by updating/performing worst case analysis utilizing mathcad and pspice simulation
- use of cad tools (such as zuken) to modify schematics according to latest requirements.
- assist pcb engineers in the creation of pcb layout based on emc layout design rules.
- design prototypes testing and debugging using electronic measurement tools (oscilloscopes, logic and spectrum analyzers).
- create and/or execute hardware testing based on a set of requirements, document test results and perform team reviews to discuss findings.
- planning and tracking of hardware development status and issues.
- support meetings with cross functional project team, hardware/test team, and customers as needed.
- support customer presentations, interfacing with oems on technical topics.
*qualifications*:
1+ or more years professional experience in automotive electronic products or systems
bachelors of science degree in electrical / electronic engineering
must have effective verbal and written english communication skills
able to work in distributed global team environment
experience with microsoft word, excel, powerpoint, project
self-motivated with strong troubleshooting and analysis skills
ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
familiarity with electronic tools (power supply, oscilloscope, multimeters, spectrum analyzers etc.)
the applicant must be able to travel to domestic and international locations (engineering and manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customers) 10% of their time.
additional requirements:
familiarity with requirements analysis tools (doors or smilar)
familiarity with automotive development process
experience in driver assistance electronics or other safety electronic products.
experience with fmea methods and tools (iqrm)
experience with emc/environmental testing
experience with wcca (mathcad, excel, others)
knowledge in design for manufacturing
knowledge in iso26262
experience with pcn/ptn evaluation
