*what you will do*
establish, develop, and leverage collaborative scientific relationships with health care professionals (hcps) of the relevant therapeutic area, mainly with top key opinion leaders (kols), facilitating a high-level scientific exchange that will allow them to provide a more precise diagnosis and a better treatment of the disease, having as a main priority patients' needs and their safety.
msls are members of the medical department with non-promotional activities and provides the scientific support to the different activities performed by the therapeutic area to which she/he belongs.
*what you will work on*
- through compliant scientific exchange, builds and maintains professional relationships with external stakeholders, mainly hcps, investigators, and medical societies, to expand takeda's research, advisory and educational partnership opportunities.
- ensures high standard of professionalism to develop and maintain "peer-to-peer" scientific relationships with key thought leaders in healthcare, academia, payer, and government organizations per strategic territory plans and as requested by kols, including the management of strategic scientific partnerships and scientific exchange.
- provide scientific liaison support to investigators currently involved in the takeda's medical affairs company sponsored research, investigator initiated sponsored studies, externally collaborative clinical research, and global development operations studies.
- serve as a liaison between hcps and takeda medical affairs.
- guarantee that hcps and top kols are up to date in scientific matters relevant to the therapeutic area, to facilitate a better comprehension of the disease and assure the proper use of takeda's drugs in benefit of our patients.
- identify and prioritize the gaps and needs of scientific information and evidence generation among hcps and kols through a proper engagement plan.
- support access team in the process of the inclusion of our drugs into the formularies of different health institutions, sharing scientific literature and evidence of our drugs to facilitate informed decision-making processes.
in addition, collaborate with them delivering scientific & non promotional presentations regarding the disease and/or takeda's products to national, regional, or state entities.
- active participation in national and/or international congresses, as well as in regional forums of medical groups and associations, to support scientific and cme activities.
also, this participation can be part of their personal scientific development and training.
- provide scientific support to internal stakeholders (business units, marketing, access, training, etc.)
as needed, aiming to increase the knowledge of our drugs and the disease.
- communicates key medical insights from kols/hcps to inform refinement of medical strategies or tactics.
- active collaboration to develop and implement training sessions to internal & external stakeholders, according to medical plan and to the unmet needs that arises within the therapeutic area.
*who are we looking for*
*experience & education*
- bachelor´s degree in medicine, biology, or health science.
- strong scientific background and knowledge.
- at least 1 year of standard-setting performance as msl.
- has an established track record of effective and influential oral presentations within the healthcare professional.
- medical clinical or research experience in the assigned therapeutic area is preferred (gastroenterology), could be a medical specialty or any other applicable degree.
- fluent english (and spanish) speaker capable of effective communication.
- ability to effectively use microsoft office tools (power point, word, excel), as well as different communications platforms (microsoft teams, webex, zoom, etc.)
