we are looking for the *general manager* for their plant located in *mexico*, reporting directly to the vp of operations, americas.
mission:
the general manager will be responsible for managing a large operation, and will develop and manage a cross-functional organization to deliver on long-term business objectives having quality and compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence - in all its dimensions - as priorities.
the general manager will have accountability for the site performance, including the p&l.
main responsibilities:
- organizes and manages a cross-functional team of resources to deliver on the agreed site goals in terms of quality and compliance, customer deliverables and satisfaction, and site financials (p&l, balance sheet, ar/ap, etc).
- defines benchmarks and kpis to control the site performance, identify areas of focus, and ensure execution of corrective /preventive actions.
- drives lean and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, optimize the cost structure and achieve operational excellence bringing the site to a world-class level of performance
- establishes and implements plans and procedures to ensure business continuity, and compliance with all applicable global and local regulations, including eohs standards.
- responsible for developing and managing annual capex budgets to maintain and develop site infrastructure and capability in line with the strategic plan.
- development and management of the supplier base to support the site activities, in collaboration with the global supply chain organization, as applicable
- coordinates with global functions (it, hr, finance, etc.)
to support corporate initiatives and adoption of common guidelines, methodologies, processes, and tools as necessary to maintain alignment and deploy standard systems
- supports the company's product development activities
main requirements and qualifications:
- engineering degree (b.sc./m.sc.)
or equivalent
- minimum 10 years experience in operation leadership roles
- knowledge of relevant automation technologies including process development, industrialization, and process qualification methodologies
- in-depth understanding of s&op techniques, program management, supply chain management
- demonstrated people management skills, including the ability to build performing teams
- ability to build and leverage partnerships and manage complex relationships
- p&l management and strong financial and commercial acumen
- continuous improvement management: techniques, methodologies, and tools knowledge (lean management and six sigma)
- ability to analyze data and operations metrics (kpi) and derive actions to improve performance
- ability to effectively present information to top management, customers and public groups, and/or boards of directors
