The network engineer role will be responsible for working with the operations and engineering teams around the support and strategic improvement of the global network platform with a focus on f5 load balancing platforms. The individual will be evaluating processes regularly to ensure expected outcomes are achieved in the most efficient way along with identifying service improvements and document those improvements to help ensure standards and processes are followed.
your role accountabilities:
operations/project management
1. effectively support all wbd f5 load balancing network infrastructure 24/7 by responding to and resolving all requests and trouble tickets within the stipulated sla time.
2. clearly understand the root cause of all the f5 network outages and take remediation steps to prevent the recurrence of the problem.
3. ability to prioritize work based on business criticalities and also be flexible to work on ad hoc tasks as assigned by the manager.
4. fully understand and adhere to the team’s network standards and procedures both in technical and functional areas.
5. maintain positive relationships with all user communities, peers, and the management team.
6. perform other duties as needed.
qualifications & experiences:
1. bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar.
2. minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration in an enterprise network production environment.
3. strong skills in administering and managing f5 load balancer appliances in an enterprise environment.
4. strong skills with linux-based operating systems and a working knowledge of web-based applications.
5. strong skills with ssl certificate management and troubleshooting.
6. process-oriented engineer with strong execution and follow-through skills.
7. able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize self.
8. strong and consistent customer service and communication skills.
9. willingness to work a flexible schedule.
10. strong team member with self-motivation and desires to improve the infrastructure.
11. excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
12. must participate in an on-call rotation for out of hours support.
13. minimal travel anticipated for this position.
14. must have the legal right to work in mexico.
