Cec controls automatizacion is currently recruiting for bilingual spanish/english controls engineers to join our growing team in mexico, preferably at our silao office. This position will report to the controls manager.
we are looking for control engineers that must be able to perform the design and field startup of control systems for automotive manufacturing. Experience in industries related to the automotive industry and electrical controls are highly desired. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills are necessary.

responsibilities:
1. design of control systems on large automotive projects, from customer standards where applicable
2. provide expertise in the design of industrial conveyor systems in automotive assembly
3. review specifications
4. establish non-standard designs
5. follow internal and customer standards
6. design system architecture and network topology
7. develop a system layout and distribute control equipment appropriately
8. review time cycles studies and dimension switch layouts
9. detailed design of control panels
10. specifying equipment and development of bills of materials
11. electrical calculations
12. design of electrical schematic drawings in autocad and eplan
13. design and test plc and hmi programs using mainly rockwell and siemens applications
14. liaise with various project teams and customer representatives
15. research and understand the functionality of proprietary control equipment
16. communicate effectively and ensure a consistent quality of design
17. issue designs as required by the project timing
18. provide technical support to site installation teams
19. site startup
20. customer support
21. undertake projects in new sectors, knowledge of robot programming and vision systems (cognex/keyence)
qualifications:
1. bachelor’s degree in mechatronics or electrical engineering
2. minimum of 5 years relevant industry design experience with a system integrator of automotive conveyor systems and robot cells, including system architecture, schematic diagrams and control panel design
technical knowledge, certification and skills:
1. ford nextgen & gvoss standards
2. gm gcch/gccs, g12 & g16 standards
3. proven design experience on recent large projects
4. detailed knowledge of industrial conveyor systems in automotive assembly, robotic programming and vision systems (cognex/keyence)
5. autocad, eplan
6. rockwell and siemens plc & hmi, mitsubishi plc
7. industrial networks (devicenet, ethernet, profinet, iolink)
8. variable speed drives (rockwell, siemens, sew)
9. debugging plc & hmi with no additional support
10. microsoft office suite
11. ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
12. able to travel to customer sites for extended periods
13. must be fluent in spanish. English toefl 70, with oral and written communications skills
physical requirements:
1. able to climb a 2-story ladder
2. can walk a mile in 20 minutes
3. be able to cover, on foot, a reasonable distance on a job site
