Responsible for implementing and following up the ehs policy in electrolux juarez food preservation and laundry facility at all levels, in order to obtain, maintain and ensure compliance with all environmental, safety & health applicable licenses, certificates, and permits, related to all legal and corporate eh&s policies, programs and objectives.
essential duties and responsibilities
* development and implementation of guidelines to obtain zero non-conformances in audits from the federal environmental protection attorney in mexico (profepa) & labor secretary (stps), ecology (state local and federal regulations as well as epa & tceq). Legal compliance regarding health ministry (ssa), water commission (jmas), transportation department (dot & sct), social security (imss), and osha applicable standards.
* responsible for developing and implementing our electrolux ehs program and schedule programs in short and long-term achievements, which include: internal audits, ehs analysis, chemical products controls, support and improvement waste management systems/zero waste to landfill (zwl), waste generation reduction programs, energy and resources conservation programs, hazardous waste communication, industrial hygiene programs, ergonomics, accidents & incidents investigation, waste classification, ehs legal compliance and operation permits, emergency preparedness & contingency planning, developing and implementing contractors ehs controls, and promoting electrolux environmental health and safety culture including safe behaviors and prevention, support, implementation and improvement of iso’s management systems (14001, 45001, 50001, sustainability and energy).
* implements electrolux's ehs policy, instructions, manual system and procedures, risk assessments and identifies ehs aspects and impacts.
* provide direct communication to hr & ehs management on current ehs incidents and compliance concerns, program development needs, and actions necessary to affect positive and sustained performance results.
* key role in iso 14001, 45001 assessment and coaching.
* maintains continuous improvement through ehs metrics.
* ensures all eh&s risks identified through internal inspections by eh&s personnel, ehs committees, workgroups or ehs leaders, are eliminated and controlled.
* active support in environmental and safety workgroups standardization subcommittees and improvement teams.
* develop and deliver effective employee and management eh&s related training and orientation programs, including workgroup members, manufacturing engineers, process and control engineers as well as management role employees.
* active support in cost reduction projects and maintain eh&s budget.
* works directly with manufacturing teams in solving ehs issues, including new projects and new processes.
* responsible for applying all requirements related to ems, iso9001/14001/50001/ green spirit according to the position.

minimum qualifications
* previous experience: 6+ years in environmental, safety & health area (preferable), including: wastewater treatment plants management, industrial paint & welding process, design & implemented ehs systematic programs, ehs certifications, and legal compliance processes.
* education: bs degree in mechanical, environmental, occupational safety or chemical engineering.
* language skills: bilingual in spanish and english (verbal and written).
* experience leading ehs area in manufacturing plants, outstanding objectives achieved.
* experience in providing leadership is essential.
* experience in successful implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
* excellent communication skills and ability to develop and implement guidelines.
* experience in sharing and adopting ehs best practices among the organization.
* ehs legal requirements knowledge and understanding (federal, state and local).
* cost out projects (waste, energy, water, etc.).
* certification process experience (iso 14001, ohsa 18001).
* authorities interaction & risk assessments experience.
* team building & problem solving.
* superior technical knowledge in safe work practices: energy control, confined spaces, pipelines safe work, electricity, high pressure equipment & testing, machine guards, ergonomics & work stations design, industrial hygiene programs, hazards communication, flammable liquid spraying, machining safety, contractors, industrial trucks, cranes, hoists & lifting devices, emissions & doc’s, asbestos, hazardous & toxic waste, non-hazardous waste, sampling & assessment, control of documents, monitoring & measurement, corrective actions follow up, management review, and industrial wastewater.
