The server and storage operations analyst will oversee the correct functioning of the organization's servers and backup infrastructure. Responsibilities include maintaining operating efficiency and stability, monitoring server performance, and ensuring business continuity through appropriate disaster recovery processes.

representative responsibilities
1. monitor functioning of servers and troubleshoot to ensure the system operates in conformance with specifications.
2. maintain and troubleshoot azure iaas virtual machines and azure applications.
3. monitor, escalate, and remediate nas & san device/application alerts to identify potential incidents.
4. work directly with other departments, internal customers, and stakeholders to support software throughout the existing environment, both on-premises and cloud.
5. troubleshoot, maintain, and respond to alerts from monitoring systems.
6. conduct activities in performance tuning, resource optimization, and monitoring.
7. participate in engineering and testing of disaster recovery of systems.
8. ensure all virtual machines follow current lifecycle patch management.
9. responsible for maintenance and monitoring of backup systems and restoring data.
10. analyze trends and suggest solutions or optimizations.
11. follow all change management procedures and coordinate planned outages with all affected parties.
12. create and maintain documentation/instructions as necessary for systems and processes.
13. escalate service requests that require engineer level support in a timely fashion to prevent breach of sla.
14. act as technical lead for l1 operations and support team.
required education
ba or bs in management information systems, computer science preferred.
required skills & experience
1. three years of relevant experience in multiple it areas with a minimum of one year of relevant architecture or business analyst experience (data, servers, application, systems, etc.) required.
2. excellent english communication skills, both written and verbal.
3. strong critical thinking and analytical skills; ability to identify risks associated with business processes, it operations, and technology projects.
4. strong technical leadership skills.
5. comfortable initiating change; can handle the stress related to balancing multiple issues and perspectives.
6. demonstrated experience identifying the relationships between business services, information, applications, and global infrastructure assets.
7. experience with cloud methodologies (iaas, paas, and saas).
8. create and maintain meticulous documentation and diagrams across the full lifecycle of projects and systems.
9. experience with maintaining and troubleshooting virtual environments both on-prem and cloud.
10. maintain patch management lifecycle for x86 – preferably sccm.
nice to have
1. medium knowledge of scripting and programming.
2. backup and storage knowledge preferable (commvault, veeam, rubrik).
