job description
the distribution center sr. Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of a distribution center, ensuring that inventory management, order fulfillment, and logistics processes align with the latest retail trends and consumer demands.
develop strategies and tactics to assure outbound logistics activities that can support business revenue and ebit objectives like: goods receipt, order processing, physical inventory, merchandise dispatch, continuous improvement processes, expense control, key performance indicators, as well as loss prevention actions.
responsibilities:
* operational strategy: develop and implement strategies to optimize distribution center operations, including warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.
* order fulfillment: ensure timely and accurate order processing to meet customer expectations and reduce delivery times.
* inventory management: utilize advanced inventory management systems to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
* technology integration: implement and manage technology solutions such as automated warehousing systems and data analytics tools to enhance operational efficiency.
* compliance: ensure all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with relevant regulations.
* customer service: collaborate with order to cash & customer service teams to address and resolve any distribution-related issues promptly.
* performance metrics: monitor key performance indicators (kpis) and use data-driven insights to identify inefficiencies and develop optimization strategies.
* team leadership: lead and mentor a team of managers and staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
education:
* superior degree in administration, engineering or related areas. Desirable post graduation.
* computer courses - advanced office package.
* languages: advanced english.
experience:
* +5 years of proven experience in logistics and distribution operations management with strong kpi’s orientation, supplier’s management and change management processes.
* 3+ years’ experience in lean or six sigma and problem-solving methodologies is a must.
knowledge and skills:
* strong team leadership.
* excellent communication and interpersonal relationship.
* flexibility and commitment.
* ability with interfaces between erp and wms systems.
