job summary
the general manager/cluster director is a highly self-motivated and results-driven leader that oversees all operations and business activities of the relevant latin america markets, mexico, brazil and colombia to ensure they produce the desired results and are aligned with the overall zamora company strategy, vision and mission. The cluster director will report to the global ceo and will be part of the executive committee (comex).
the successful incumbent for this position should have a solid track record of growing sales, scaling operations, and leading a team by example and an entrepreneurial spirit. With your sound commercial background and driven business acumen, you will be expected to identify and translate market opportunities into actionable business plans. You will also foster collaboration with key internal and external clients while building processes and operations to optimize commercial and organizational success.
responsibilities:
strategic vision:
1. develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.
2. oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
3. enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics.
4. analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to minimize risk and promote growth.
5. report regularly to the comex, providing comprehensive updates on the cluster’s performance, challenges, and opportunities.
people management:
1. lead and motivate the team to advance employee engagement and develop a high performing managerial team.
2. adapt your actions according to the expectations, interests and capabilities of your team/employees.
financial management:
1. develop and monitor performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of financial strategies and operational efficiency.
2. make high-quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits.
3. review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements.
4. oversee the financial management of the cluster, ensuring long-term financial sustainability and growth.
5. prepare and manage annual budgets, monitor cash flow, and ensure that financial reports are accurate and timely.
business development/focus on the customer/consumer:
1. maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company.
2. build trust relations with key partners and clients and act as a point of contact for important clients.
qualification:
1. a master's degree in business administration or relevant field is strongly preferred and proven experience as general manager or extensive professional experience in related leadership and managerial roles.
2. 20 years of experience in managing latam commercial operations, whether for a full sized small company as general manager or commercial director for a larger company.
3. wine and spirits industry experience is required.
4. experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision.
5. highly connected to high level executives within the distributor’s networks.
6. an entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
7. marketing, brand building mindset to be involved in crafting core brands strategies.
8. strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
9. familiarity with diverse business functions such as commercial sales, pr, finance, etc.
10. in-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
11. analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
12. excellent communication and public speaking skills.
13. international cultural experience is a plus.
