Operations managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area of our sort center (inbound, sortation, outbound) as change ops. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of area managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the fulfillment center.
key responsibilities:
1. drive creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other change/six sigma initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the sc to meet and exceed business plan.
2. measure performance, provide feedback, and hold area managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
3. leverage the operations and area managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.
4. take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.
5. work closely with partner functions (pxt manager, financial manager, facilities manager, lh manager, s&lp manager, other ops managers, it manager) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in his/her area.
6. address operational and personnel issues affecting functional area.
7. surface issues with potential to affect multiple functional areas, along with ideas for solutions, to ops, general manager and/or hr.

1. lead and supervise a team of area managers and associates in outbound, sort or inbound operations within the sort center.
2. responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of the shift.
3. carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

5. strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
6. mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning.
7. ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts and network.
this position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment.
minimum requirements:
1. bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of amazon (blue badge/fte) experience.
2. work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
3. 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
4. 2 years of strong operations management proficient in data analysis.
5. 5+ years operations management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution environment or related industry.
6. supervisory responsibility for a minimum of 100 hourly employees.
7. excel skills required.
8. english proficient.
9. bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics.
