we are currently seeking a disaster recovery specialist to join our team in cdmx, méxico (mx-mex), mexico (mx).
position overview
develops, tests, documents, implements, and maintains business continuity (bc) / disaster recovery (dr) planning processes for restoration/recovery of information technology (it) systems in the event of natural/man-made disasters (e.g., earthquakes, fires, power outages, and power surges). Assists clients in all phases of the recovery process. Works with account delivery manager to enhance disaster recovery service offerings. Individuals have a deep understanding of their own subject area and a broad understanding of related subject areas. they handle diverse issues and lead projects that contribute to the company's success.
position's general duties and tasks:
* develops and executes bc/dr testing and associated documentation.
* coordinates all specified planning and scheduling actions with the hot site vendors.
* performs the bc/dr planning functions associated with the development, documentation and implementation of moderately complex backup and restore solutions.
* coordinates the project initiatives, activities, and the transition of new accounts from migration to ongoing support.
* supports and works with the account to enhance the bc/dr service offering and ensures that all service levels are provided in accordance with the client requirements.
* provides liaison support among all disaster recovery teams and assists in all phases of the recovery process.
* provides liaison support among all disaster recovery teams and assists the client and client account support teams in all phases of the recovery process.
qualifications
must have skills:
* substantial knowledge and understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies.
* substantial understanding of data and voice communication systems.
* substantial knowledge of emergency response testing, recovery support and business resumption procedures.
* solid project management skills
education requirements
* typically requires 8-10 years’ relevant experience.
* undergraduate/bachelor’s degree
* graduate degree preferred.
