about this role
this position is for an established materials planning and siop professional who participates in the supply and demand planning process, and is responsible for making minor changes or enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems and improve effectiveness of work area. May work with internal team to develop financial forecasts.
key responsibilities
* purchasing: responsible for the po placement process; support the buying/sourcing team to ensure parts/accessories are quoted/sourced in a timely manner.
* supplier coordination: collaborate with suppliers to confirm timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues.
* material planning: develop and implement material planning strategies to guarantee timely availability of materials for customer demand.
* inventory management: monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock and reduce excess inventory.
* data analysis: analyze material usage trends and forecast future material requirements.
* process improvement: identify and implement process improvements to enhance material planning and purchasing efficiency.
* reporting: prepare and present regular reports on material status, inventory levels, purchasing activities, and supply chain performance.
* compliance: ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all purchasing activities.
basic qualifications
* associate degree.
* 2+ years of experience in material planning and purchasing.
preferred qualifications
* bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or business administration.
* master’s degree in supply chain management.
* certification in apics (association for supply chain management) or similar.
* proficiency in material planning software and erp systems such as sap, oracle, or jde.
* experience in material planning and purchasing in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
* experience with international sourcing and procurement.
* analytical and problem-solving skills.
* english communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
* work independently and as part of a team.
* detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
