We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized part-time hr manager to oversee human resources operations, employee compliance, and administrative processes. This role is critical to ensuring our team thrives while maintaining adherence to all organizational and regulatory standards.
you will manage a wide range of hr activities, including recruiting, onboarding, payroll, compliance, and employee relations, while contributing to the development of efficient and compassionate systems.
key responsibilities
1. Company compliance:
ensure all employee and fleet licensures, certifications, and inspections are renewed before due dates.
monitor and audit equipment, supplies, and safety compliance, coordinating maintenance as needed.
review and update compliance memos, employee handbooks, and onboarding documents for accuracy.
2. Recruiting and hiring:
maintain organizational charts and up-to-date job descriptions.
post job openings and vet candidates for required qualifications.
coordinate interviews with hiring managers and secure approvals for new hires.
draft offer letters and manage new hire communications.
3. Employee services:
prepare and facilitate new hire onboarding, including documentation, training, and orientation.
manage employee files, distribute uniforms, and set up workspaces for office hires.
oversee performance reviews, goal-setting, and 90-day onboarding evaluations.
handle performance write-ups, terminations, and exit interviews.
identify trends in employee turnover and maintain accurate records for analysis.
4. Payroll & benefits administration:
coordinate with payroll providers to manage payroll services and resolve employee timesheet issues.
conduct benefits consultations for new hires after 90 days.
set up payroll and benefits for new employees, and close accounts upon termination.
ensure compliance with state-specific rules, including reimbursements and per diem rates.
5. Employee compliance:
ensure completion of mandatory training (e.g., sexual harassment, safety certifications).
maintain and track renewal dates for employee certifications and training requirements.

preferred qualifications:
bachelors degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
3+ years of hr management experience, preferably in a small-to-mid-sized organization.
proficiency with gusto, indeed, and other hr software/tools.
familiarity with compliance, payroll, and benefits administration.
strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
excellent written and verbal communication skills.
