The business development representative is responsible for increasing the awareness and client base of the company's certification services.
the certification services focus on measuring the reliability of the client's operations as the relate to iso standards.
many of these operations are involved in international trade.
industries may include supply chain standrads within the transportation, railroad, chemicals, and plastics sectors.
*what you will do*:
- day to day contact with potential and existing clients for new sales, quoting and contracting activities.
- handle proposal development activities (simple and complex) including screening client information for scope determination, proposal generation and timely submittal of quote to the client.
- receipt/review of all applications and required contracting information.
completion of contract review to assure the requirements are defined, any differences resolved and that abs qe is capable to provide service.
verification/entry of information into database for assigning of project numbers.
- ongoing sales reporting for management.
- participate in major proposal activities and a dminister corporate master agreements.
- sales lead and quote follow-up, as assigned.
*what you will need*:
education and experience
- bachelor degree in business/technical discipline ( technical preferable ).
- prior experience in selling certification services would be useful but not required.
- experience in the industries served would be considred a plus.
this includes, but is not limited to, transportation, railroad, chemicals, and plastics sectors.
- prior experience where you served as an advisor and made recommendation to the client is considered a plus.
knowledge, skills, and abilities
- good oral and written communication skills; excellent telephone communication skills.
- considerable attention to detail including a high degree of accuracy in data entry and interpretation.
- the ability and willingness to work in a team environment.
- familiarity with database requirements and computer tools available to make use of such data.
- good organizational, research & problem solving skills.
- can-do attitude, conscientious towards client service.
- english conversational.
*reporting relationships*:
reports directly to a senior level manager and has no direct reports.
*working conditions*:
this role primarily works from a corporate office and has a schedule of monday - friday from 8:00 - 4:30 pm.
this is a business development role, and there is an expectation that, after training is complete, the representative will visit with current and future clients at their location.
the representative is expected to talk on the phone and operate in a normal office environment, including typing on a keyboard and reading from a monitor.
in addition, the representative may have to occasionally up to 20 lbs.
