Essential functions:
1. aid in the design of test solutions for new product introduction programs using a systems approach and standard test platforms where applicable, in line with engineering technical requirements.
2. aid in writing and compiling test software applicable to the test platform and product requirements, in line with project timescales.
3. develop appropriate test and process documentation, technician and operator training, and best-in-class repair diagnostics.
4. support in defining and purchasing test equipment, driving suppliers to reduce cost and improve performance.
5. reduce test costs through yield improvement and hardware cost reduction projects.
6. sustain and maintain test equipment through the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures and specifications.
7. perform failure analysis on equipment and implement cost-effective improvements necessary to assure the highest possible process and equipment reliability.
8. prepare procurement documentation including equipment specifications and coordinate equipment upgrades and/or installations with suppliers and internal personnel.
qualifications:
1. bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
2. minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. ability to read and understand electrical and electronic circuit diagrams as well as product specs and boms.
4. well-developed oral and written communication skills; bilingual is desired.
5. ability to work as part of an integrated project team to tight timescales.
6. strong organizational skills to complete multiple tasks concurrently are essential.
7. basic knowledge of pc-based test equipment using pci-based instrument systems.
8. ability to fault find to sub-system and component level as appropriate.
9. knowledge of electronic system assembly techniques (e.g., soldering, wiring, crimping, etc.).
10. experience dealing with subcontract companies and driving the supply chain to set objectives.
11. ability to develop and accurately document processes and train technicians and operators on equipment procedures.
12. strong knowledge of test equipment meters, dmms, hi-pot, ma testers, and oscilloscopes; plc experience highly desired.
13. knowledge of 3-phase systems and configurations.
