*role summary*:
as the sourcing specialist for electronics, controls and instruments, your overall focus is to manage costs to within company objectives for the purchase of goods from suppliers, in collaboration with regional performance, category and platform supply chain teams.
This position reports directly to the respective north america regional sourcing manager.
*responsibilities & requirements*: the sourcing specialist is responsible for running sourcing events assigned to you by the sites, platforms or category management groups you support. This includes execution of events such as price agreements, strategic sourcing initiatives like dtv, ve, and high value spot buys (us$ >100k) etc, whilst working towards achieving the company cost reduction targets.
You will achieve these through:
- ensuring correct contractual coverage.
- supplier base optimization / reduction
- supporting the sourcing needs as dictated by the business, run strategic sourcing events
- and deliver the results as needed.
- implementing supplier sourcing roadmap for the country, category or products.
- maintaining commercial competitiveness of the suppliers.
- manage and drive rfq, supplier selection, price/contract negotiation for category based
- transformation cost reduction projects from cost reduction trackers and provide business
- case document for decision making
- negotiate and propose supplier pricing agreements.
- support and provide inputs to product group on product costing to develop business case and sourcing implementation.
- monitor supplier(s) spend against avl and roadmap set by category management
- periodic review with supplier performance group on the supplier performance report out to the sourcing manager.
- negotiate and select pricing and terms on high value spot buys us$ >100k (not covered with contracts).
- identify sourcing gaps and provide recommendation to sourcing manager.
- ensure the use of the global / strategic suppliers for all the sourcing requirements
*requirements*:
- 5 years of experience in supply chain
- 2+ years of sourcing experience
- bachelor’s degree in electric / electronic/ control and automation engineering, business, supply chain or a related field
- knowledgeable in the procurement of controls, electronics, instrumentation and iot related items
- knowledgeable in dtv, vave processes
- technical knowledge of printed circuit board assembly, integrated circuits, and semiconductors in general required
- strong knowledge of pcba and ems supply base a plus
- attention to detail required for technical and commercial review of costed boms, engineering and multiple stakeholders
- strong interpersonal relationship management
- proven negotiation skills with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- proficiency in project management
- strong analytical skills which involves collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
*preferred experience / skills*:
- change management experience
- certified supply chain professional
- geographically mobile for development opportunities
- ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate at all organizational levels
- expertise with ms outlook, word, excel, and powerpoint
- knowledge of sap and sourcing tools like ariba
- sound understanding on the sourcing needs of the regional / global sites
