General summary:
the traffic monitoring role provides real-time track and trace visibility of local and inbound transportation to ensure correct billing and optimizing resources to avoid delays and excess usage of truck units.
principal duties and responsibilities:
1. scheduled transportation services with carriers
2. real time track and trace transportation activities with the transportation software
3. optimize transportation resources
4. follow rigorous security and safety procedures
5. monitor transportation system alerts with the carriers, shippers and brp plants
6. monitor trailer inventory
7. work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve service objectives
8. participate in measures and kpi reviews
9. promote a spirit of continuous improvement to support our lean enterprise mission
knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
1. logistics engineering or transportation degree
2. minimum of two (2) years of experience in a transportation environment, with relevant experience in inbound logistics (transportation, materials planning, etc.)
3. solid knowledge of excel (specifically for data processing)
4. spoken and written bilingualism (english and spanish), moderate level desirable
5. knowledge of transport and yard management systems (tms/yms) and sap erp (wm, mm, pp) considered an asset
