honeywell buildings technologies (hbt) is looking for a sr advanced hardware eng who can lead a team of talented engineers that develop a variety of solutions for buildings automation industry. You will create project and technical reports as required and help define solutions architecture as needed. You will aid in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of honeywell's customers.
*key responsibilities*
- collaborating with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new systems or solutions.
- using tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product
- developing high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
- define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
- deliver across the entire system life cycle - concept, design, build, deploy, test and release
- working directly with developers, testers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test and realize products
- ensure product meets all non-functional requirements of quality, security, reliability, scalability, performance, etc.
- keep up to date on the latest industry trends in building automation technologies
- communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team, stakeholders and non-technical audiences
- oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design
- provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
*you must have*:
- bachelor’s electrical engineering, electronics engineering, electro-mechanical engineering or equivalent or relevant work experience
- a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in hardware development or system engineering in a multi-disciplinary system that includes hardware (mechanical and electronics), firmware, and communication protocols (wired or wireless)
- solid knowledge of hardware design principles
- solid knowledge of hardware/firmware design and architecture and designing for quality attributes requirements of the system
- strong sense of ownership and drive; someone who is self-motivated and who consistently take the initiative to get things done
- good analytical thinking, troubleshooting & problem-solving skills, coupled with the drive to mentor team.
- fluent written and verbal communication skills in english

- deep understanding of electrical/mechanical engineering standards and specifications (manufacturing, ul, nom certifications knowledge) is a strong plus
- experience with design for manufacturing is a strong plus
experience with high speed communications, rf, power electronics switched power supplies is a strong plus
- experience with cad design of plastic and metal components, electronic packaging into space constrained products.
- experience of designing of injection molded plastic parts is a strong plus
- experience with environmental testing, such as high/low temperature testing, vibration testing, etc.
- experience with pdm/plm systems
- experience working with arm families and arm based soc architectures is a strong plus.
- experience with wireless technologies like wi-fi, bluetooth, zigbee, etc. is a strong plus.
- domain knowledge of building management systems and hvac systems are a strong plus.
- experience with agile methodologies is a plus.
