this position maintains and updates cpkc documents & plans such as track charts, curve book, and slic books with data supplied from engineering managers,
control updates report, supply various maps upon request to various cpkc departments, powerpoint presentations, special or capacity projects drawings. Provides assistance to project management by coordinating design plans, specifications, permitting and tender activities. Coordinate project construction permitting between cpkc and guvermental entities, such as sict, municipality, state or others. This role also is responsible of project coordination and sap budget control, create and control purchase requisitions of materials and services, perform goods receipts and obtain reports from sap. Exemplifies cpkc vision, values, and culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.
accountabilities
- ensures project maps & documents are scanned correctly and accurately.
- develop conceptual projects and estimates.
- prepares presentations, basic drawings or progress reports of capacity projects.
- engages in capacity projects design & engineering.
- provides design, oversite, review,
constructability for projects technical requirements such as hydrologic and hydraulic technical revisions, geotechnical interpretation, control and evaluation.
- review/resolve technical project requirements to meet rules, specifications and design codes.
- design and construction schedule review for structures for completeness, accuracy and reasonableness.
- provide project bid sheet quantities and cost.
- support on bidding process and legal contracting procedures.
- provide guidance through the bidding process and review of contractor submittals.
- process technical aspects for permits: before sct, municipality, state,, and others.
- submits technical documents to the authorities and follows up until aproval.
- site visits with authorities per request to follow up projects permit status during construction.
- administrative tasks related with sap and budget control.
- coordinate infrastructure materials and services quotations, enter the purchase requests in sap and generate a report to track, release and assign the purchase order.
- performs records of gr's (goods and services received) in sap.
- gives follow-up and report weekly all sap activities.
- generates monthly internal investment reportsdemonstrates operational excellence by knowing and applying the business requirements. Demonstrates customer focus and contingency planning to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
- understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.

ideal candidate qualifications
- bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably:
civil engineer/architect/professional in engineering.
- minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- sap basic knowledgeautodesk autocad.
preferred
- power bi, microsoft project or similar.
- technical knowledge on railway track design.
- technical knowledge and plan revision skills of foundations, civil, track, utilities (water, sewer, power), communications, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical, lighting, roadways, pavement, drainage, and architectural design for buildings and shops.
working conditions
- this position has a regular full time schedule with a normal work week of monday through friday. There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.
- business travel is an essential requirement of this job.
employees must be able and willing to travel away from their primary work location up to 10% of the time.
