The senior plant controller will be responsible for leading the financial management and administrative control of the manufacturing plant, which has a production value (vop) of approximately 70 million dollars. The primary objective is to act as a business partner for the plant team, ensuring strong operational and financial management to support decision-making that optimizes profitability and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the metal-mechanical and/or automotive manufacturing industries, advanced english proficiency, results orientation, resilience, and a high level of leadership to coordinate and motivate the financial team and other involved areas.
key responsibilities:
financial management and cost control
1. develop, oversee, and review the plant’s annual budget, ensuring proper resource allocation and achievement of profitability objectives.
2. implement cost control strategies, indirect cost management, and expense optimization in collaboration with operations, purchasing, and production teams.
3. analyze plant performance metrics and financial figures to generate reports that provide visibility to the executive team, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, with variance analysis and recommendations for decision-making.
financial planning and analysis (fp&a)
1. collaborate with the financial planning and analysis team to develop short-, medium-, and long-term financial projections, considering demand fluctuations, raw material costs, and changes in production processes.
2. support the finance team in analyzing the profitability of investment projects and propose action plans to ensure an adequate return on investment.
3. define and establish floor-level structures and controls to provide visibility into working capital requirements per production line, identify opportunities, and implement risk mitigation actions.
regulatory compliance and corporate policies
1. work closely with administrative areas to ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and applicable local and international regulations.
2. contribute to the preparation of information required for internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.
leadership and team development
1. lead and develop the plant’s finance team by providing continuous feedback and training plans.
2. foster a collaborative work environment and promote continuous improvement and operational excellence within the organization.
3. work closely with other plant leaders (production, quality, logistics) to align objectives and strategies while ensuring adherence to corporate initiatives and guidelines.
4. collaborate with the supply chain and purchasing teams to optimize sourcing strategies and supplier contracts.
performance analysis and continuous improvement
1. evaluate key performance metrics (kpis) and propose corrective and preventive actions to ensure profitability and efficiency objectives are met.
2. drive continuous improvement projects (lean, six sigma, etc.) to optimize processes and reduce waste.
job requirements:
education
1. bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related fields.
2. preferably, a master’s degree in finance, administration, or a related discipline.
professional experience
1. over 10 years of experience in finance and control roles, with at least 7 years in metal-mechanical, automotive, or similar manufacturing plants.
2. proven experience managing budgets and projects with a vop exceeding 60 million dollars.
3. strong knowledge of cost and managerial accounting.
technical skills and competencies
1. advanced english proficiency (spoken and written), capable of effectively communicating with international teams and presenting reports to the executive team.
2. advanced proficiency in erp systems (sap, oracle, or others), advanced excel, and power bi.
3. up-to-date knowledge of local financial regulations and internal control standards.
