responsabilities:
* make decisions to ensure that the final product meets the most current customer input requirements.
* lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to design, develop and implement new products that meet customer requirements.
* authorize and/or justify purchases for the acquisition of equipment, machinery, tools, materials, etc., necessary for the development of new products and/or models.
* manage staff to carry out their activities efficiently and effectively, maximizing the budget to meet set objectives.
* participate in continuous improvement and advise all departments on technical conflict situations for the resolution of engineering problems.
* coordinate activities with other departments (production, quality, materials, human resources, maintenance) to ensure effective implementation of new products, guaranteeing quality and low costs.
* ensure that all documentation and records providing evidence that the design, validation, and verification of the design were developed, collected, archived, and maintained according to the documentation requirements.
* be responsible for selecting staff with the necessary characteristics and capabilities for the engineering department.
* administer productive spaces and the general layout of the plant.
* supervise or conduct research, studies, and special tests to evaluate the efficiency of new designs.
* supervise, train, and motivate subordinates to develop their activities in a coordinated manner and in a good working environment.
* plan, delegate, and distribute activities and functions equitably.
* direct the engineering staff in the formulation of plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications.
requirements:
* degree in industrial engineering or a related field, master's degree or higher (desirable).
* black belt certification (desirable).
* 5 to 7 years of experience in similar positions.
* knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma.
* advanced english.
* experience in plant transformation projects.
* analytical and problem-solving skills.
* project management skills.
