key account manager is responsible for building relationships and developing plans to increase brand share and awareness within the industry.
job description:
you’ll be disruptive through these duties and responsibilities:
1. drive commercial relationships with industrial distributors and national accounts focusing on sales growth and market share gain.
2. work with jss and channel teams to effectively develop and execute sales and conversions plans with industrial distributors.
3. strategically plan customer visits to cultivate relationships, deliver presentations, and create opportunities to grow business.
4. present reports to management that track sales and opportunities.
5. work with channel, product, and sales leadership teams to execute & win line reviews, maintain skus, build out pog, and lead meetings.
6. participate in local and national account shows and events. When necessary, direct activities of the show (set up/tear down, schedule field sales support, activities).
7. act as liaison between customer and internal departments to resolve issues as needed.
8. work with product teams within milwaukee to ensure launches are on time and relevant.
9. implement and drive the account strategy to achieve corporate goals.
10. work with the national account managers to execute national initiatives.
11. candidate needs to be able to multitask between multiple levels of leadership.
12. deliver accurate sales forecasts for accounts on a regular basis.
13. perform other duties as assigned.
the tools you’ll bring with you:
1. requires a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or equivalent experience.
2. 2-5 years of experience as key account manager for industrial suppliers and distributors, like grainger, fastenal, risoul, vallen, etc.
3. success in managing multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, making some decisions, and working effectively in a matrix environment.
4. must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. Act as a leader as well as think technically but communicate practically.
5. frequent travel will be required to and from ace hardware headquarters or brookfield, depending on location.
6. track record of success with cross-functional teams, driving change and implementing new processes that significantly improve sales effectiveness.
7. effective written and oral communication skills, ability to establish rapport and credibility.
8. innovative problem solver - resolve issues and challenges with a strong sense of urgency.
9. knowledge and experience with microsoft excel, powerpoint, and project.
