job summary: you will oversee the merchandise margin components for a multibillion dollar business. Additionally, you will manage a team of financial analysts & senior financial analysts to assist senior leadership with driving business decisions. Day-to-day, you will have the opportunity to drive strategic decisions for the leading off-price retailer in the world.
responsibilities include:
* manage the processes and activities of the reporting team to ensure effective, efficient and accurate forecasting & analytics of the merchandise margin components.
* oversee & perform financial forecasting & reporting with excellent attention to detail, ensuring deadlines are met.
* partner with senior merchants to provide insight into profit and retail trends.
* perform analysis to provide relevant executive-level guidance on business performance and areas of risk and opportunity.
* oversee and deliver financial updates to cfo, chief merchant & president.
* work on various ad-hoc analysis to drive profitability & increase efficiencies.
* manage and mentor associates on training and professional development.
* build relationships with partners across the business, such as logistics, merchandising & parallel finance groups.
* play a leadership role on projects & new initiatives.
* deliver strategy and recommendations on various initiatives across all levels of management.
* deliver presentations with strong messaging and recommendations to senior leadership.
* responsible for review of standard reporting with strong attention to detail.
we are looking for:
* bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related field.
* at least 5 years of experience working in a business planning and/or finance environment.
* at least 2 years of experience leading teams in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
* strong communication skills with an ability to acquire and analyze information and draw business solutions.
* prior experience with leading a team in enhancing use of data visualization tools like power bi.
* able to concisely and effectively deliver insights, recommendations, and results to executive level management.
* ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple engagements and manage constantly evolving assignments in a team environment.
* excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and reporting on large amounts of data.
* high level of curiosity to explore, learn and understand business information.
* excellent attention to detail.
* proficient pc skills: microsoft office excel & power bi; alteryx experience is a plus.
* advanced english.
