In this role, you will be driving audit support requests by understanding the requirements, planning, scoping, executing, and providing data solutions to our business customers. This team sits within global tax services and is looking for an exceptionally capable individual to help deliver tax technology support within the audit team for our indirect tax function. This position is based in costa rica or mexico.

key job responsibilitiesas a business analyst, you are expected to support indirect tax audits globally and work in support of audit readiness. Your responsibilities would include:
supporting the indirect tax team on tax audits on a daily basis.diving deep into the details to develop meaningful findings and provide required data.analyzing and solving problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.owning end-to-end 'audit request' cases from gathering requirements to solutions, ensuring deliverables within the deadline.learning and understanding a broad range of amazon's data resources and knowing when, how, and which to use.documenting processes, data flows, etc.building partnerships with tax, finance, and accounting customers.basic qualifications- bachelor's degree
- knowledge of microsoft office products and applications at an advanced level
- experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- 4+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience
- knowledge of at least one data-focused technology tool, such as python, sql, alteryx, amazon quicksight, or similar
- proficiency with alteryx
- strong analytical skills – ability to start from ambiguous problem statements, identify and access relevant data, make appropriate assumptions, perform insightful analysis, and draw conclusions relevant to the business problem.
- advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to stakeholders and senior management as required.
- demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical problems in simple terms.
- excellent writing skills – experience in writing business documents, process flows, and building flowcharts.
- ability to present information professionally & concisely with supporting data.
- ability to work effectively & independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
preferred qualifications- 2+ years of maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g., vertex) experience
- working experience in tax, finance, accounting
- knowledge of data management and modeling fundamentals and data storage principles.
